#TheChallenge - #BattleOfTheExes #Exes - Episode 7

This episode begins at the beach - and things are hot and heavy between Ty and Paula, who are seen flirting and making out on the beach.
Emily overhears Ty (who is working VERY hard to take things to the next level with Paula) say "I love you," to Paula and it bugs her, because Ty once said the same things to her that he is now saying to Paula.
Back at the house, Emily confronts Ty on this, and Ty reassures her that he did, indeed, love her and that she was the most influential person in his life.
Next, we see Diem talking to Ty about her big fight with CT. Diem comments that they haven't spoken in two days. Ty advises her to talk to him and tell him he hurt her feelings and then to move forward.
Next we see CT and Diem talking it out. Well, really, we see Diem bringing up the past from 5 years ago, about how it hurt her that CT hooked up with Shavon on Duel II, and how she felt he did not care about her feelings. Yaaawn, I could see how Diem would be exhausting.
Then she proceeds to discuss the flight issue (when CT's brother died, Diem was supposed to come visit him in Boston, but she apparently messed up on her flight reservations and was unable to change it and couldn't afford to book a new ticket) even though CT did not bring it up and seems to want to just let it all go.
Anyone else get the impression that, even though Diem broke up with him, CT has moved on and Diem hasn't?
Next scene is challenge day - where the five remaining couples must compete in a wedding-themed challenge on the beach. Emily and Ty finish last, which means they are automatically up for elimination. CT and Diem win, so they are now the power couple, which means they are in charge of picking the couple they want to go against Emily and Ty for this week's elimination round.
Back at the house, a bored Emily and Camila decide to dress up as Ty and Paula, mocking their annoying relationship dynamic, which has apparently been getting on everyone in the house's nerves due to their excessive PDA.
Camila paints her face white, Emily paints her face with chocolate, and the two go out into the kitchen and start mocking them.
Honestly, it all seemed like a harmless joke to me, but over-sensitive Ty flips out and accuses Emily of racism, but we all know the real reason is he was insecure because she was mocking his game (or lack there of) and he can't take a joke.
Ty gets so upset that he threatens to leave, much to Emily's shock and dismay. Everyone in the house tries to convince Ty to stay, likely because they know he is up for elimination and so if he quits, that means two other couples are up for elimination, instead of just one.
Ty agrees to sleep on it, and he and Emily make up the next morning.
Honestly, what Emily did to him was pretty tame in comparison to the things he's done to her, such as throwing a plant at her and other such drunken aggressive tactics.
Meanwhile, CT and Diem ponder which couple they want to throw in against Ty and Emily.
They talk to all the couples in the house - Robin/Mark, Camila/Johnny and Paula/Dunbar.
CT wants to throw in Johnny, which would be the smartest move in my opinion, since that would put the two strongest teams against each other and therefore, eliminate one of the big threats. However, for some odd reason, Diem thinks Paula and Dunbar are a bigger threat and wants to throw them in.
Finally, they walk into the living room to announce who they have chosen for elimination, and then all of a sudden, the screen goes black and it says TO BE CONTINUED...
So we won't know who they chose until next week.

The Challenge: Battle Of The Exes | Ep. 3 | Ex-ual Tension (Aftershow)

Cara Maria talks about wanting Abram to be social. She also says he gets upset because he feels she doesn't show him enough love.
Leroy says he was secretly pissed at Naomi, he just kept it to himself.
All four agree that Heather and Dustin didn't seem too sad to be sent home. Leroy thinks they couldn't handle all the downtime in the house when not doing the challenges.
All four agree CT and Diem have a lot of unresolved issues, and that it's unclear why they broke up. Cara Maria reveals that CT had a girlfriend when he and Diem were seeing each other, but denied it to Diem.

Did Abram Cheat on Cara Maria?

From from I'm reading in these tweets, it looks to me like Abram cheated on Cara Maria, which may explain last week's fight.

The Challenge: Battle of the Exes (Episode 2) RECAP

The episode starts off with Wes and Mandi sitting outside at a table, drinking wine. Wes tries for the 50th time to work it with Mandi, and gets shot down. He confesses that when he and Mandi hooked up on Rivals, he really liked her, and is hoping to rekindle.
Mandi says that it's never going to happen.

Meanwhile, Vinny is telling Sarah a stupid story about an ex-girlfriend. Sarah says the reason she and Vinny would never work is because, "He's got an IQ that's less than I can count on my hands."

Meanwhile, Leroy makes fun of Naomi's weave. Naomi says it's because he still has feelings for her, Leroy says it's the other way around. Whatever.
Then Naomi talks to Jasmine about it. Jasmine relates by telling her that Tyrie wants to be her boyfriend, but she can't stand him, and he won't get the hint.
Tyrie overhears this and is pissed. He vents to Wes that he's only here for the money, and couldn't care less about Jasmine.
Jasmine overhears this and all hell breaks loose. She pushes him, Tyrie (who is twice her size) barely flinches.
He then tells her off in front of everyone, tells he's lost respect for her as a person and friend and that she can kiss his black ass. This, of course, infuriates a volatile Jasmine and she lunges for him. Wes jumps in and breaks it up, then a few of the girls hold her back.
Rachel notes that they've created a big target on their back as a dysfunctional couple.

Things calm down the next day, CHALLENGE DAY. This challenge is another water challenge, which actually looks really fun.
Naomi and Leroy lose, which makes them automatically up for elimination in The Dome.
Sarah and Vinny win, making them a the power couple who get to decide.

Back at the house, a stoked Vinny and Sarah consult with the two couples they're considering sending into The Dome.

Sarah wants to send in Jasmine and Tyrie because they cause a lot of conflict in the house. Tyrie tries to assure Sarah that won't happen again, but says they will respect her decision if that's what she and Vinny want to do.
Vinny, however, is pissed at Wes for voting him and Sarah in on Fresh Meat 2, so he wants to throw them in.

Later that night, the cast goes out to a club. Vinny gets drunk and impulsively rips off Mandi's shirt, which naturally angers Mandi and her protective partner, Wes.
Unfortunately for Vinny, this means he has to go home, because after Tonya's lawsuit against BMP, Kenny and Evan, sexual harassment is apparently no longer tolerated on these challenges. (Eye roll).
Unfortunately for Sarah, that means she's going home, too. Upon learning this, she burst into tears.
Upon learning Sarah must leave, too, Vinny says, "Yeah, she's probably pissed at me, I got nothing to say to her."

Before leaving, however, both she and Vinny decide to send Wes and Mandi into The Dome against Leroy and Naomi.
Leroy and Naomi win, eliminating Mandi and Wes.

Derrick Kosinski's Podcast (1/29/12) RECAP

I listened to Derrick's podcast yesterday, where he, Johnny and Mark discussed their thoughts on the first episode of The Challenge: Battle of the Exes

What we learned:
By all accounts, production has gotten really strict with the cast members and according to Johnny and Mark, prisoners have more rights than cast members do while filming. Johnny said production threatened to fine him and Mark because they'd re-arranged the furniture in their bedroom.
According to Johnny, when cast members get sick or injured, before going to the hospital, production generally turns to the female cast members, first, because they are always stocked with a "pharmacy" of various pills on them such as painkillers, Adderall, etc.
According to Johnny, when not having sex, Mandi tends to keep herself and has a very wallflower-like, boring personality when sober. Johnny thinks the reason MTV invites her back is because she is pretty.
All three guys give Camilla a lot of respect for standing up to Wes and not falling for his feeble attempt at manipulation. They also acknowledge she is a great competitor and a force to be reckoned with. Johnny says that what makes Camilla stand out from most of the other females on these challenges is that she is "fearless." She also fit in well with the boys, and apparently hung out in their room quite often and Mark referred to her as the "cigar girl" in their "gentlemen's club."
However, according to Johnny, her confrontational nature is both a strength and a weakness.
Johnny jokes that MTV keeps on asking Paula back to these challenges "for the pure shitshow factor" because even after watching herself on TV and regretting some of her actions, she never learns from it and repeats her mistakes all over again on each challenge.
Cast members get very comfortable with each other, and it's not uncommon for the guys and girls to walk in on each other naked in the bathroom and be unfazed by it, and so any sexual chemistry tends to fade and according to Johnny, they "become like sisters" to him after a while.
Mark says that one night, at a club, he and some of the boys convinced some of the Dominican Republic girls that Dunbar was Tom Cruise.
Johnny says the honey challenge was a lot tougher than it looked, Mark agrees.
Derrick and Johnny agree that Abe's biggest potential downfall as a competitor is his sometimes strange approach at motivating his teammates/partner.
Johnny agrees with Diem's comment that the teams who have good chemistry tend to do well, and credits his Rivals victory with the fact that he and Tyler were able to work really well together.
Derrick gives Camilla this week's Challenge MVP.

The Challenge: Battle of the Exes (Episode 1) RECAP

Emily is paired with Ty, and Ty says, "I know Emily's a great competitor, but there's also the fact that...I hate her." Of course you do, Ty, she rejected you!

Niomi and Leroy get paired up. Leroy says he wouldn't mind if Niomi hooked up with another guy, but Niomi says she will kill Leroy if he hooks up with another girl.

Mandi and Wes get paired up, and Mandi lets us know she doesn't plan on kissing anyone but her boyfriend.

Diem is paired up with CT, says they are not even Facebook friends.

Heather and Dustin are paired up, who are actually not ex's. They are still together.

Tyrie and Jasmine are paired up, who call themselves "business associates."

Priscilla is paired with Nate, but says that she and Nate barely made out and overall, she did not really get to know him when living together.

Paula is paired with Dunbar, who she claims she can't stand.

Camilla and Johnny are paired up, which is fine with both of them, because there's always been chemistry between the two, and now that Johnny is single, he is less reserved about expressing it on camera.

Abe and Cara Maria are paired up, which is expected.

Rachel and Aneesa are paired up, and Rachel says she does not like that Aneesa caused a rift between her and Jen (who is not on this challenge, by the way).

Lastly, Mark and Robin are paired up. Robin says she broke up with him, but they are still good friends.

They all meet at The Dome, which is where all elimination rounds take place.

Then it's challenge time, which Nate fails miserably at, meaning him and Priscilla lose the challenge, meaning they are automatically up for elimination in The Dome.

Johnny and Camilla win the challenge, making them the Power Couple that decides who goes into The Dome against Nate and Priscilla.

Knowing that Johnny is the smarter, more experienced player, Wes tries to manipulate Camilla into making a deal with him to make sure he doesn't go into The Dome. The plan backfires, however, when Johnny finds out and is annoyed by Wes's desperate challenge tactics.

Meanwhile, Heather and Dustin think they're going to be sent in, because they are rookies and therefore, have an automatic target on their back.

However, Johnny is so annoyed with Wes that he ends up sparing Dustin and Heather and sending in Wes and Mandi, instead.

So the first elimination competition in The Dome is Nate/Priscilla vs. Wes/Mandi.

Wes and Mandi win, sending Nate and Priscilla home from their first challenge.
